I.E. I found this the other day and it's a pretty neat (and free) program but I haven't tested it with skins yet so this will be a journey for both of us! I'm also doing this while typing this up so I can't say how long it'll be. I've never written a tutorial before so sorry if this isn't my best one.

First step: go to the site, download/extract the client.

(You'll get this page and a quick pop up for your language, pick yours and it'll take you to the page for it. I speak english so this is mine. If not there's a language bar in the top right corner!)

Step 2: learn about the layout.
It's pretty simplified compared to Photoshop or Sai.

This is the left side:

In order we have the following tools.
1. Brush tool
2. Eraser
3. Pixel brush (Has sized 1, 2, and 3 great for zooming in to get tiny details)
4. Move tool (just moves the canvas/ layer around)
5. Fill tool (I know it says that but it's mainly a shape tool I guess)
6. Bucket Tool (Fills in areas/sections and also has pixel sizes from 1 to 3)
7. Gradient Tool
8. Select tool
9. Magic Wand Tool
10. Select Pen Tool (I haven't messed with that yet but I'll add that to this whenever)
11. Select Eraser Tool (Also plan on messing with that on a later date)
12. Text Tool
13. Eye dropper Tool
14. Hand Tool

Top pink bar is brush size, I recomend you slide it around and look at the center of the screen cause it will show your brush size and so you get a good idea on the size.
The bottom bar is opacity which can be lowered, I put mine to ten for this so I could see the jacket.
Underneath are various brushes like eraser, pencil, pen, air brush.

Pixel brush is an entirely separate brush so it won't be listed but can be changed here:

We have a view of the canvas on top, which you can move around if you're zoomed in like me.
Underneath is layers which you can lower the opacity on layers, rearrange, lock or allow clipping which is where they pretty much cut into each other.
Under all that is (in order of left to right) New layer, Layer folder, Duplicate Layer, Merge, and Delete layer.

Step 3: Load up your image
I'm under the assumption that we all know how to do this but if not, it's under file and you pick open and the skin you want to edit.
I set it to grid with ctrl+G cause it's easier for me.

Step 4: Erase if you plan to.
The eraser also has an opacity and size you can change. (If you use the pixel brush, you can right click and it'll erase in the size of the pixel you used. I.E. if you colour with size 1 pixel brush and wanna erase, right click and it'll be size 1)

Step 5: Colour it or whatever you plan to do.
I simply coloured it with an airbrush size 15(I changed it a bit though for bigger areas), opacity at 7.
It's highly recomended that you do the rest of this in layers!
As for importing images, I don't believe you an do that so fancy lightning blades would have to be added in other programs like PS, PTS, or GIMP!

*Not pictured here, pixel brush work. But you'll see it in the next one.

Step 6: Save as a png!
Great thing about this is that it saves as a PNG when you wanna save it.
But anyway this is what it looked like when it was done, not too happy with how it came out because it was just a test skin but w/e but look, I used the pixel brush for the shirt!

This part is reeeallly important, this message will pop up about saving layers but don't worry. your layers are safe! It'll ask about the type of png you want so save it as transparent png not 24 bit. 24 bit will give you a white background!

Step 7: Upload and test!
Irrelevant rule but I use imgur, here it is uploaded!

And tested!

Hi, thanks for your tutorial ! it's useful and I learn a lot .

FireAlpaca is a super cool free artists tool which can support graphic tablet for painting.

I’m using the XP-Pen Deco MINI7 Graphic Tablet in FireAlpaca. I've made a few doodles I'm super happy with.
